I am you. Or rather, I was you.
Constantly seeking the best diet, the most powerful workouts, the quickest, easiest way to lose weight and basically get it over with. I had a vast collection of books on the latest trends in nutrition and fitness. I tried every meal plan under the sun and tortured myself with crazy exercise routines.
And yet, I was miserable.
I spent a good portion of my time slumped over with migraines, skin problems, a terrible immune system, and on top of all that I never lost the weight. If I did, it would be momentary and come back within days.
Perfectionist that I am, that simply wouldn’t do.
Then something clicked.
I was trying to just “get it over with”. All I wanted was the end point- the beautiful, healthy body.
But what I needed was the journey. Finally, I serendipitously devoted myself to systematic re-education. I stopped listening to the beauty magazines and started listening to my body. I researched holistic health, rather than fad diets and quick gimmicks. Day by day, meal by meal, with lots of trial and error, I learned to love and appreciate my body and harness the power of my mind.
And I know you can too.
Everyone’s body is different and responds to food and activity in vastly different ways. That’s why it is important to find the lifestyle that works for you.
It isn’t easy.
It takes time, lots of it. But that is the best part. On your journey to wellness, you’ll learn so much about yourself and the world around you. That’s the important part, not the end point. However, if you can appreciate the journey and commit with passion, there is no way you will be disappointed with the results.
